Taxpayers Need To Be on High Alert!

admin • Feb 18, 2019

Watch for letters in the mail!

Red Flags:

  1. In the Header Seal, it says Internal Taxation  Services, as opposed to Internal Revenue Service.
  2. Bureau of Tax Enforcement for County- This is Federal taxes, not County.
  3. When you call the phone number they say “Are you calling about the letter?” When you call the IRS, you will hold, you will be greeted by a revenue agent who states their badge number.
  4. When you ask for a supervisor, they hang up. Foreign Accents/ Very rude.

If people receive a Scam letter they should report it immediately!

You can submit your complaint by these methods:

By  Online Form  or Email ( TIGTA Hotline Complaints Unit ):
Remember: if you submit your complaint via the online form or email, it is possible – though unlikely – that others could read it since the internet is not secure.
