Taxpayers Need To Be on High Alert!
Watch for letters in the mail!
Red Flags:
- In the Header Seal, it says Internal Taxation Services, as opposed to Internal Revenue Service.
- Bureau of Tax Enforcement for County- This is Federal taxes, not County.
- When you call the phone number they say “Are you calling about the letter?” When you call the IRS, you will hold, you will be greeted by a revenue agent who states their badge number.
- When you ask for a supervisor, they hang up. Foreign Accents/ Very rude.
If people receive a Scam letter they should report it immediately!
